The variety is an evergreen shrub with a dense, rounded or dome-shaped crown and arcuately curved branches. The plant reaches a height of 0.5–1.2 meters.
The leaves are small, up to 1 cm, glossy, dark green; young shoots may have a purple-red hue. In spring, small tubular white or cream-colored flowers appear; purple-black berries are rarely formed.
The variety tolerates pruning well and is distinguished by winter hardiness. The primary purpose is the creation of low hedges, borders, and topiary forms, as well as use as an ornamental shrub.
