The variety was obtained as a result of selection in mutant populations. The plant is characterized as a source of plant protein suitable for use in feed production as an alternative to soybean meal, particularly in poultry diets.

In scientific research, the variety was used to evaluate resistance to abiotic stress factors, including spring frosts. Its high adaptability to the climatic conditions of the Mediterranean region is noted.
