The Ventus variety is known in scientific literature as a model organism for studying the biology of Lupinus luteus. It is used in experiments to research symbiotic nitrogen fixation, physiological plant responses to stress factors, including exposure to heavy metals and soil salinization, as well as in tissue culture methods.
