The COCCIANESE variety is an old folk selection variety originating from the town of Cocciano in the province of Terni. It is currently included in the regional register of autochthonous species of Umbria that are under threat of extinction and is preserved within the framework of biodiversity maintenance programs.
The fruits of this variety are distinguished by their very small size, with an average weight of about 65 grams. The apples are egg-shaped and capable of being stored for many months after harvest, which takes place in October. The trees of this variety are adapted to the local climatic conditions of the region of origin.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
