The tree is characterized by moderate growth and forms a vigorous, widely spreading crown with horizontally extending branches. The variety is considered undemanding and very winter-hardy, although it may be susceptible to cancer on heavy soils; susceptibility to scab is also noted.

The fruits are medium-sized, about 150 g, have smooth, shiny skin with a waxy bloom and coloration ranging from greenish-yellow to intense wine-red. The flesh is yellowish-white, moderately juicy and firm, with a harmonious sweet-and-sour taste. The variety is of universal use, suitable for fresh consumption, culinary purposes, and processing into juices.
