The fruits ripen in September–October and are suitable for storage until January. They are small to medium in size and have a characteristic bell shape. The skin of the fruits is light yellow, often with a pinkish hue or red stripes; the flesh is creamy, crisp, and juicy.

The tree is noted for being undemanding and adapted to cold climates. Historically, the variety is highly susceptible to scab and moderately susceptible to powdery mildew. The fruits are used for drying, baking, juices, and cider production.
