The variety is local to the Weserbergland region. Fruits have a green ground color and a dark red marbled or striped overcolor. Slight russeting may be present in the narrow funnel. The fruit flesh is greenish, medium-grained, low-juiciness, becomes loose over time, and develops a predominantly acidic taste.

Trees are characterized by longevity, high yield, and robust health. Harvest maturity occurs at the end of October. The variety shows sensitivity to scab, and on heavy soils, it can be susceptible to canker.
