The tree has weak to medium vigor with a canopy characteristic of spur-type varieties. Flowering occurs 3–4 days earlier than the Golden Delicious variety; harvest time is close to that of the same variety. Yield is stable, though a tendency toward biennial bearing and difficult fruit set is possible. The variety is susceptible to scab and European apple canker.

The fruits have a truncated conical elongated shape and a bright red or dark ruby color, covering up to 100% of the surface. The flesh is white, ranging from firm to tender in texture, sweet with low acidity. The fruits have good keeping quality: when stored in a refrigerator, they keep until February; in controlled atmosphere conditions, until June.

Successful fruiting requires pollinators, such as Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Gala, Fuji, or ornamental apple forms.
