Fruits are of medium size weighing 100–120 g and have a spherical-conical, often asymmetric shape. The skin is waxy, greenish-yellow with a red blush covering about 20% of the surface, and possible russeting up to 25%. A clone with intensely red stripes is distinguished within the variety.

The flesh of the fruit is white, firm, and juicy, with a sweet-sour taste and a distinct aroma. The variety is classified as winter-maturing and is noted for its ability to be stored throughout the entire winter.

The variety is widely distributed in the Puglia and Molise regions. Historical sources mention the possibility of growing this variety in container culture.
