The variety is a chance seedling that appeared around 1980 in the Cologne area. The tree grew spontaneously on the edge of a goose pasture, which determined the name of the variety.

The fruits ripen by early November. The variety is an amateur one, not intended for industrial cultivation, and does not have specialized descriptions of plant characteristics in agronomic reference books.
