The fruits of this variety are characterized by small size and yellow-green skin with reddish spots. The flesh is prone to rapid browning when sliced, which is due to a high content of phenolic compounds.

The variety is especially popular in the Pelion region. Due to its high antioxidant activity and increased ascorbic acid content, it is valued as an ingredient for whole-fruit preserves and candied fruits, and is also used in commercial orchards for pollinating other varieties.
