The Furnas variety is a local Portuguese apple variety that has been historically cultivated in home gardens on the Azores. Detailed agronomic and morphological characteristics of the variety are absent in open sources.
In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned in the context of phytopathological research. In particular, it is used for observing the development of the fungal disease Marssonina (apple leaf blotch), caused by the pathogen Diplocarpon mali, to which the variety shows susceptibility.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
