The variety GOLDEN DELICIOUS CLONE EMLA is a virus-indexed selection of the well-known Golden Delicious variety. Trees have medium vigor, form a conical crown when young, which becomes broadly rounded and densely branched over time, and branches are prone to drooping under the weight of the crop.

Fruits are medium to large in size, have thin golden-yellow skin and firm, juicy, cream-colored flesh. The variety is winter-maturing, ripening in late September or early October; fruits are suitable for long-term storage. There is a noted tendency for fruits to develop russeting and shriveling in low air humidity.
