The variety is a bud mutation of Golden Delicious. The plant is characterized by medium vigour and a diploid set of chromosomes; the crown has a semi-erect shape.

The fruits are used fresh, for culinary purposes, and for juice production; they possess a sweet taste and are capable of long-term storage. The variety is highly susceptible to fire blight and requires control of powdery mildew.

This clone is used in breeding programs as a parent form for developing varieties with a high polyphenol content.
