The variety belongs to traditional historical cultivars, known in the Czech Republic by the names Polomíšeňské, Hedvábky, or Tafetky. Currently, the apple tree is preserved as an object of genetic heritage and historical pomology.

The variety is classified as a winter one. Visually, it is similar to the Edelborsdorfer variety, and a distinctive morphological feature is the presence of a triangular shape of the stem cavity.
