The tree grows moderately vigorously; the crown branches sparsely. The variety is distinguished by very late bud burst and late flowering, due to which it avoids spring frosts and primary infection with diseases. It is a good pollinator for other varieties and is suitable for extensive orchards.

The fruits are small, round, and yellow, sometimes with a pink blush. The flesh is white, juicy, and sweet-and-sour with a slight astringency. Harvesting takes place at the end of September to the beginning of October, consumer maturity occurs in the second half of October, and the fruits can be stored until November.

The variety possesses high resistance to scab and powdery mildew. Due to mediocre taste qualities, it is not a table variety; however, it has been widely used in breeding programs as a source of genetic resistance to diseases.
