Højbjerg Sommeræble is a seedling from the Midtjylland region of Denmark. Currently, the variety is practically not grown on an industrial scale and is found mainly in the genetic collections of research institutes.

The fruits of this variety are characterized by a flat-round-conical asymmetrical shape, reaching dimensions of about 58 mm in length and 72 mm in diameter. The fruit skin is smooth, greenish-yellow in color, with a secondary color covering a quarter of the surface. The flesh is moderately sweet and juicy, with noticeable acidity and a weak aroma.

The tree demonstrates high resistance to powdery mildew and apple canker, but shows sensitivity to apple scab, although the fruits do not suffer from this disease. The variety is classified as a dessert apple, but due to mediocre taste qualities, it has limited use.
