The variety was obtained in 2001 via open pollination of the Airlie Red Flesh variety with the participation of Honeycrisp. The tree has moderate vigor, forms an open spreading crown, and is characterized by an annual bearing habit.

The fruits ripen two weeks after the Golden Delicious variety. The plant possesses winter hardiness, drought tolerance, and resistance to fire blight. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and belongs to the line of red-fleshed apples under the Lucy brand.
