The tree is distinguished by a bushy, upright growth habit and high yield, which is characterized by alternate bearing. The variety is considered hardy and resistant to blossom and winter frosts, though it has historically been noted for its susceptibility to San Jose scale.

The fruits are small to medium in size and have a spherical or blunt-conical shape. The smooth, shiny skin varies from a yellowish-green to golden-yellow ground color with a diffuse pink or dark red overcolor, sometimes with stripes and slight russeting.

The flesh of the fruit is white to greenish-white, juicy, and medium-firm. Harvesting takes place in mid-October; consumer maturity of the fruits begins in November and lasts until March. The variety is versatile and is used fresh, in cooking, and for the production of juice and cider.
