The variety is diploid and originates from the Hvid Vinter Pigeon variety. Historically, the apples were used in Denmark for decorating Christmas trees and festive wreaths, and were also consumed as a dessert.
The fruits ripen by mid-October and possess satisfactory keeping quality, maintaining their characteristics in a refrigerator for up to three months. The variety is susceptible to infestation by fruit spider mites and is sensitive to certain viral diseases, such as apple mosaic.
