Fruits of the Katinka apple variety possess yellowish-white flesh and a pleasant aroma. It is recommended to consume them fresh in September; the variety is also used as a component for making cider.

The plant can be grafted onto various rootstocks, including B9. The variety should be distinguished from the Swedish summer variety Katja, which has different characteristics.
