The variety is an old European cultivar, also known under the names Courtpendu Royal and Königlicher Kurzstiel. The tree forms a small crown of a globular shape. The variety is considered undemanding to growing conditions, however, it prefers moderately moist and permeable soils and requires regular pruning.

The fruits are small or medium-sized, yellow in color with a brown-red blush. They ripen after October 10, the consumption period covers the time frame from December to May. The flesh of the fruit has a sweet-wine taste with a spicy note. The fruits are versatile in use, suitable for fresh consumption and processing.

The plant possesses good resistance to scab and powdery mildew, which allows it to be grown without intensive chemical treatments. Due to its genetic resistance and fruit quality, the variety is used as a parent component in breeding work.
