The variety is a bud mutation of Cripps Pink, discovered in New Zealand. In terms of characteristics, it belongs to late-maturing varieties, ripening approximately a week earlier than the parent variety.
The fruits retain the taste qualities, texture, and firmness characteristic of Cripps Pink. The main visual difference is the coloration: the fruits are covered with a bright red blush over a larger surface area. The variety is included in the Pink Lady brand commercial model.
When growing, agrotechnical schemes similar to the Cripps Pink variety are used, including careful thinning and crown formation to ensure sufficient fruit exposure to light, which is necessary to achieve intense coloration.
