The Lakeland tree is of the spur type, has a spreading shape, and bears fruit primarily on spurs. The variety is characterized by annual yield and high winter hardiness.

The fruits are medium-sized, round or slightly angular in shape, and have a dark red color, often with stripes. The flesh is cream-yellow, juicy, fine-grained, with a mild-acidic taste. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption and culinary processing, with a storage life until November-January.

The variety is susceptible to fire blight and rust, while moderate resistance to scab is noted.
