Lepaan Meloni is a variety of folk selection, representing a chance seedling. The tree is vigorous, well-adapted to northern climatic conditions, and capable of growing successfully in clay soils. It enters the fruiting stage 5–7 years after planting.

The fruits are of summer maturity and have white-yellow juicy flesh with a fine-grained texture. The taste of the fruits is sweet, with low acid content and a characteristic "melon" undertone. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and contains a significant amount of vitamin C.
