The name “Lila” is used as a regional or folk designation for an apple tree in the Central region of Portugal. The variety was studied within the framework of genetic resource conservation programs.

During the studies, it was established that the Lila variety is a synonym for the Strawberry Pippin variety. Specialized agronomic characteristics for this name are absent, as it pertains to objects of ethnobotanical study.
