The variety is a genetic subdivision (accession) of the better-known Limoncella variety. The plant is adapted to the conditions of the medium and high hills of the Umbria region. Studies confirm the variety's distinction from the classic Limoncella both genetically and morphologically.

The fruits are small, with an average weight of about 86 g, have a narrow cylindrical shape and slight asymmetry in longitudinal section. The skin is smooth, yellow in color, with rare light red-orange stripes and a waxy bloom. The flesh is white, firm, moderately juicy, and distinguished by a sour taste.
