The variety is an induced mutation obtained by irradiation of the original variety Lord Lambourne, which is a hybrid of the varieties James Grieve and Worcesterská parména. The fruits are distinguished by their dark red color, ripen by mid-September, reach consumer maturity by November, and are suitable for storage until January.

The variety is characterized by low susceptibility to scab and powdery mildew. It is intended for fresh consumption. It is a good pollinator; suitable partners for cross-pollination are the varieties James Grieve Red and Prima. Tree growth parameters depend on the rootstock used; dwarfing rootstocks of the M9 or MM106 type are recommended.
