The variety matures in the first half of October and is characterized by late flowering, which allows it to be grown in hilly and mountainous areas prone to spring frosts. The fruits have a flattened-spherical shape; their flesh is firm, juicy, very white in color, with a pronounced sweet and aromatic taste.

The variety name indicates the presence of a dense epicuticular wax layer on the skin. This layer protects the fruit from moisture loss and pathogen penetration, which contributes to long storage of the apples in cool rooms. The variety is a subject of research on the conservation of agricultural biodiversity.
