MELO DEL SANGUE is an heirloom variety of folk selection typical of the Tuscany region. Trees of this variety are distinguished by high resistance to diseases, drought, and adverse climatic conditions, which allows them to be grown both in lowland and mountainous areas.

The fruits ripen in early October and possess a sweet aroma and a crisp flesh texture. The variety is traditionally used for fresh consumption as well as for home processing, including the production of jams and juices.
