The medium-sized fruits have an intense bright red color on a yellow-green background. The flesh is cream-white, firm, juicy, and crunchy, with a fruity-floral aroma. The tree can reach a height of 3–4 meters and is characterized by low susceptibility to fruit tree canker.

The variety was obtained by crossing an Idared and Maigold hybrid with the Elstar variety. Genetic resources of old Swiss varieties, such as Fraurotacher, were used in the breeding. The variety is considered susceptible to scab, powdery mildew, and fire blight, therefore it is often used in breeding as an object for improving resistance.
