Poppina apple fruits are medium-sized, larger than the Borda variety, but smaller than Renet or Carpendola varieties. Fruit shape varies from round to conical (turbinate). During the ripening process, the skin changes color from greenish to yellow, often covered with a characteristic russet coating and a distinct red spot.

The fruit flesh is firm and fleshy. The variety is historical and currently serves as the subject of biodiversity conservation programs. It is inherently a local variety with high adaptability to local climatic conditions, characteristic of folk selection.
