The variety is an autochthonous Slovenian apple tree that originated as a chance seedling. Trees are characterized by vigorous growth and enter bearing in the 4–5th year, however, they are characterized by pronounced alternate bearing. The plant possesses good resistance to scab and powdery mildew.

The fruits are medium-sized, have a rounded or slightly elongated shape, light yellow coloring with a red blush and sometimes a reddish tint of the flesh. In terms of taste, the apples are relatively sweet with a low acid content. Thanks to the firm skin, the fruits store well in ordinary cellars until June.
