The Redstar (or Red Star) variety is a breeding clone of the Elstar variety. It inherits the primary morphological and agronomic characteristics of the parent variety, but differs in more intense fruit coloration.

During cultivation, the variety requires compliance with agrotechnical measures, including fruit thinning, which is necessary to prevent the biennial bearing characteristic of the original Elstar variety.
