The variety is a clone of the Red Delicious apple group, discovered in South Tyrol. The tree has a semi-compact canopy and moderate vigor, which allows it to be grown on dwarfing rootstocks.

The fruits have an oblong shape and an intensely shiny dark red blush, which appears earlier than in the parent variety. Harvesting in South Tyrol begins at the end of September or the beginning of October.

The variety is characterized by good keeping quality: when stored in a standard refrigerator, the fruits maintain their quality until February, and in controlled atmosphere chambers, until June.
