The variety was bred through interspecific hybridization, combining the biological characteristics of sickle alfalfa and alfalfa. This provides the plant with better adaptation to the climatic conditions of the steppe compared to pure stands of alfalfa.

The main goals of breeding work during the creation of the variety were to increase seed and forage productivity, as well as the level of autogamy. The initial material was selected taking into account resistance to adverse environmental factors.
