The Alcor variety was obtained as a result of the breeding improvement of the Aragon lucerne ecotype. The plant is positioned as more productive and possessing improved produce quality compared to the original type.
In international registries, the variety is mentioned in connection with the assessment of dormancy characteristics, however, detailed quantitative data on plant height, maturity dates, resistance to lodging or specific diseases are not presented in open publications.
