Magnum Wet series varieties (in particular, Magnum 7/Wet and Magnum 8/Wet) possess a branched root system. This biological feature allows the plants to adapt to challenging growing conditions, including waterlogged soils, where other alfalfa varieties are prone to stand thinning.
The plants are characterized by aggressive growth in the year of sowing and high productivity under intensive management systems involving up to 4–5 cuts per season. The varieties demonstrate complex resistance to major diseases, including Aphanomyces race 2 infection.
