The variety is a hybrid alfalfa combining traits of Medicago sativa and Medicago falcata. It was created as a multi-purpose variety for hay and grazing, adapted to severe climatic conditions and characterized by slow regrowth after mowing.
Regarding resistance to pathogens, the variety shows susceptibility to Fusarium wilt and is characterized as moderately resistant to bacterial wilt. Nutrients in the plant leaves decrease more slowly during maturation than in the stems, and total nutrient yield peaks by the early flowering stage.
