The variety is a pasture type of alfalfa capable of forming new shoots from underground rhizomes. It has medium growth intensity, stems of medium thickness, and a good ratio of leaf mass to stems. Flower color varies from purple and blue to yellow and white shades.
The plant is resistant to lodging, trampling, and grazing by animals, including sheep. The variety is adapted to difficult soil conditions, including saline, meadow, and sandy areas. It regrows quickly after mowing or grazing.
When compared with hay-type varieties, it yields 20–30% less green mass, but is superior in protein content. Recommended for establishing pastures and use in grass mixtures, in particular with Bromus inermis or Festuca pratensis.
