The ecotype originates from the Pavia province and differs from other local populations by its higher genetic uniformity. The plants have an erect habit, are characterized by a medium-tall and medium-thickness stem, as well as good regrowth speed.
This ecotype is adapted to local cultivation conditions and demonstrates high dry matter productivity. It is traditionally used in forage production, and specific selected forms are used in breeding programs to improve yield and forage quality.
