The Pergeu variety, also known as Pergeu Brazil, belongs to the group of dark tobaccos intended for air-curing. The plant reaches a height of 1.5–1.8 meters and forms from 18 to 22 technical leaves of medium size, approximately 50x30 cm.

The variety is mid-season, with a ripening period of 55–60 days. The plant is characterized by high resistance to blue mold and a number of viral diseases. After curing, the leaf acquires a dark brown color, is distinguished by a rich flavor and medium to above-medium nicotine content, and requires fermentation.
