The plant has a semi-erect growth habit and branches strongly at the base, forming a large number of lateral shoots. The variety has medium flowering and ripening times, reaching maturity in 135 days.

The green mass and hay are distinguished by their content of protein, fat, calcium, and potassium. The variety is suitable for two cuts under favorable conditions; seed yield is 0.8–1.5 t/ha. The crop is resistant to spring frosts down to –5°C and develops better on light, acidic, or slightly acidic soils.

It is used as a forage crop, a plant for improving soil structure as a stubble or catch crop, and as a honey plant. Approximately 50 kg of nitrogen per hectare is accumulated in the crop residues after harvest.
