The plant belongs to the short-stature category, possesses good tillering capacity, and high lodging resistance. Sowing dates are permitted up to the first week of May, in some cases until the second half of May. The variety shows no sensitivity to fungal infections typical for the group, such as grain spotting.

The grains have a semi-spindle shape, a length of 6.60–6.70 mm, and a width of 3.30 mm. The variety is intended for preparing risotto, as well as salads, soups, and timbales due to the grains' ability to maintain their shape and separation. On the Italian market, the variety is often sold under the commercial designation «Arborio».
