The Copsemar 7 variety is adapted to European growing conditions and is included in the list of varieties used within the scope of the Arroz de Valencia protected geographical indication. The variety is widely cited in scientific literature as an object for comparative genetic analysis.
In experimental studies, the variety is used to examine genetic markers of germination at low temperatures, as well as to analyze the genetic basis of resistance to rice blast caused by the pathogen Magnaporthe grisea.
