The variety was created at the research center in the city of Szarvas using biotechnological methods, namely haploid somaclonal selection. Its introduction served as the basis for further development of dihaploid breeding in Hungarian rice cultivation.
For two decades after the beginning of its cultivation, the variety held leading positions in terms of planting area in Hungary. Publications describing this variety mainly focus on its historical significance as a successful example of introducing biotechnologies into agricultural practice.
