The Padano variety belongs to medium-grain rice varieties with grains of medium length and a rounded shape. Genetically, it is related to the Spanish variety Bahía. In agronomic classification, the variety belongs to the japonica group.
Due to its culinary properties, the semifino category rice is suitable for dishes that require long cooking in broth, such as minestrone and other soups, where maintaining the integrity of the grain is important.
