The Rocca variety is an Italian rice that has become widespread in Turkey. It was actively used in breeding programs, in particular, becoming one of the components in the development of the Osmancık-97 variety. It is used in the food industry.

During studies, the variety demonstrated relative resistance to salinity and susceptibility to drought. Among the compared samples, the rice of this variety is characterized as the softest after cooking.
