The variety belongs to food-grade oilseed poppy varieties. Its seeds are characterized by a blue color, which makes them suitable for use in the confectionery industry for the preparation of fillings and dough products.

In agronomic studies, this variety is often used as a control sample for comparison with modern breeding lines. The plants possess good germination vigor and a rapid start to the growing season, however, they are inferior to new hybrids in resistance to fungal diseases of the genus Helminthosporium.
