The variety Hrei belongs to the oilseed group of opium poppy (Papaver somniferum). It is characterized by a low alkaloid content, in particular morphine, the level of which in dry capsules does not exceed 0.15%.

The genetic yield potential of the variety is estimated at 10–18 c/ha, with actual figures reaching 10.7–12 c/ha. The variety is intended for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe, Steppe, and Polissia zones.
